    《破产姐妹》是由美国华纳兄弟电视出品，在CBS电视网首播的一部电视连续剧，讲述了两个身份背景完全不同的都市女孩共同打拼、实现梦想的故事。作为一部情境喜剧，《破产姐妹》的每一集都充满笑点，人物们的对话既贴近生活，又令人忍俊不禁。编剧很擅长使用双关、比喻、夸张、引用等各种修辞，这是其强烈幽默感的重要来源之一。本论文从台词中使用的修辞手法角度出发，欣赏和分析这部经典美剧中所体现出的独特美式幽默。
