    明朝初期牟氏家族定居栖霞,由普通小农家庭发展为胶东富甲的大地主,兴盛百年之久.创业艰难,守业更难,研究栖霞牟氏家族兴衰沉浮的发展历程能够更好地探究牟氏家族的经营之道、生存方式和处事准则,对当代不无启发与借鉴之意.
