在现代的教育背景下，数学的教学已经不只是单纯的传授运算和公式的运算了，而是更加注重对学生思维能力、问题解决能力以及逻辑判断能力的训练。尤其是在小学阶段，打好坚实的数学根基，不仅要求他们具备了基本的计算专业技术，而且也要求他们具备了学习和运用数学思想的能力。
