牦牛是适于高海拔地区繁衍的唯一牛种，是青海牧区群众赖以生存和生活的重要生产资料。本文就牦牛的体型外貌、生产性能、适应性、品种利用、牦牛群的组织管理等方面进行了论述，以期为牦牛资源的有效利用和高效生产提供参考。
