    南宋书院强调培养"德业并举"的人才,将德育放在书院教育的首位.在如何实现德育目标方面,理学家做了诸多尝试,通过学规、会讲、祭祀、开堂讲义等来对就读于书院中的学子进行全方位的熏陶,使得士人在科举之外,找到更为根本的理想信念寄托,打造了新型适应当时社会经济发展变化和政治形势的新型士人群体和士人意识.
