    Abstract：

    自从英语新课程标准实施以来，英语教学的目的、方法、以及考试的内容和形式都发生了很大的变化。在教学中表现出由语言知识教学向语用能力培养的转变。单一考查语言知识的项目几乎不存在了，重点已转移到通过语篇考查学生综合运用英语语言的能力。所以，在新课程背景下如要达到《英语课程标准》中对阅读技能规定的教学目标，必须要在单位时间内提高学生的阅读效率，同时也为孩子们的终身学习奠定基础。
