Abstract：
素质教育的稳步推进，标志着中国英语教学领域步入新的阶段。广大一线教育者只有更新教育观念、重视学生核心素养的提升，才能达到新课改的英语教学标准，为国家培养智慧型语言类人才。如何在初中英语课内外阅读教学中培养学生学科核心素养，已成为广大初中英语教育者的共同研讨课题。在本文中，笔者将结合自身经验，浅谈初中英语课内外阅读教学的现状和相关策略，与广大教育者共勉，希望对读者有所启迪。
