Abstract：
公共图书馆是现代化城市建设中必不可少的公共场所之一，它与共同体育馆及其他公共设施一同形成一套满足群众身体健康和精神文化需求的社会服务体系，因此，公共图书馆在整个社会教育体系中扮演着举足轻重的角色。文章从图书馆的社会教育职能入手，就如何最大限度地发挥公共图书馆的社会教育职能，以及在原有教育工作基础上不断创新进行详细分析和探讨，旨在进一步完善公共图书馆教育体系，提升广大人民群众的综合素养。
