《母亲的心是宁静的海》是一本关于亲子关系的书。这本书中几乎没有一个我们常见的“家长”形象，不管是像大地一样平和包容的奶奶，还是心如大海那般宁静的妈妈，还是“以你为先”的太奶奶，还是极其细心呵护的爸爸，在孩子面前，他们都不是居高临下的长辈，而是以最平等的姿态去了解孩子、欣赏孩子、尊重孩子、培养孩子。最平等的姿态是什么模样儿呢？本书作者陈希红做出了最好的诠释。
