Abstract：

英语阅读是学生掌握新词、了解西方文化的有效手段，也是提升学生英语素养的重要途径。教材是初中生学习英语的重要资源，可是因为课堂时间有限，学生很难在有限的时间内学到较多知识，英语能力较弱。课外阅读对于提升学生阅读能力来讲具有重要作用，因此教师需要高度重视英语课外阅读，提升学生英语核心素养
