Abstract：
传统经验主义坚持经验是一切认识的基础，最后到休谟导向了一种怀疑主义和经验原子主义的疑难，最后逐渐被人们所抛弃。而詹姆斯则认为，经验主义的根本原则并没有错误。经验主义的错误只在于它没有把握到经验的原初样貌，而把反思意识对经验的二次加工的产物与经验本身相混同了。而经验主义之所以会犯下这个错误，就在于其对确定性的偏执，而不肯承认模糊和晦暗也是经验中不可忽视的一部分。
