    根据社会发展的需要和开放大学学生的实际情况，提高他们的口语表达能力势在必行。加强口语训练是开放大学语文教学的核心任务，也是提高学生专业能力的重要途径。语文教师应根据不同专业的特点，采取多种教学方法和培训方法，培养和提高中老年学生的口语交际能力，以适应语文课程的要求，培养高素质的技能型人才。
