    Abstract：

    洋务运动的最根本的指导思想是“自强”、“求富”。其分类思想就是“师夷制夷”、“中体西用”八个字。前四个字“师夷制夷”表明洋务运动与外国资本主义侵略者的关系，即学习西方的长技用以抵制西方的侵略。后四个字"中体西用"，表明洋务运动与本国封建主义传统文化的关系，表明中学与西学各自在洋务运动中的地位，即以中学为主体，西学为辅用。“师夷制夷”、“中体西用”，也是洋务运动中洋务派处理中西民族国家关系及中西文化交流的基本原则。
