    英语阅读在英语教学中扮演了重要角色。在初中英语课堂上，教师要不断探索适合初中生的英语阅读教学新的策略和方法，以提高他们的基础阅读能力，提高他们的学习能力、语言能力、思维素质和文化素质，以提高英语的核心能力。文章结合《英语课程标准》对五级课标的具体要求，探索了提高英语综合素质的基本方法。
