    Abstract：

    本文基于自建的英语写作语料库（CEW）和英语自传语料库（CEA），并以中国学习者英语语料库（CLEC）、本族语者语料库（LOCNESS）、英国英语本族语料库（LOB）下的子语料库LOB_J为参照，利用WordSmith软件对比分析了湖南中医药大学英语专业高年级学生与全国大学生、英语本族语者在情态动词MUST使用频数和搭配方面的差异，并就其背后潜藏的原因进行了探讨。
