Abstract：
英语教学的价值不仅是教会学生掌握一门交流语言，更重要的是让学生了解世界各国文化，取其精华来培养自身更高的文化品格。学生文化品格是《英语课程标准》提出的学生基本素养的核心要素。随着教育改革步伐的加快，初中英语教师要更注重在英语教学中培养学生的文化品格---理清语言和文化的关系，增强文化育人意识；挖掘教材文本中的文化素材，提高英语教学中的文化含量。
